Yes! We know how busy you are and how difficult it is to take off work for your dental appointments. That is why we offer convenient appointments as early as 7 am 5 days a week and until 7 pm 4 evenings a week. Call us today, and we will get you right in.

We take several precautions to ensure your safety as our patient. First, we keep up-to-date on the latest sterilization procedures and research. Our office complies and exceeds OSHA standards for safety. Our instruments are thoroughly sterilized in accordance with ADA accepted guidelines and are brought to your chair in a sealed bag. Most importantly, we have a sterilization center where we can maximize efficient sterilization and minimize the chance of contamination through human error. If you have any questions, we would be happy to demonstrate our sterilization procedures.

When selecting a toothpaste for you or your child, purchase one that contains fluoride. Toothpastes with fluoride have been shown to help prevent cavities. Be sure to check the label as some toothpastes are not recommended for children under the age of 6. This is because young children swallow toothpaste.

Make sure to choose a soft toothbrush with rounded bristles to avoid excessive wear to your teeth and gums. When a manual toothbrush is used for the recommended amount of time – 2 or 3 minutes – and with the proper technique, it can perform just as well as any powered toothbrush. However, if you prefer an electric toothbrush, we recommend a good ultrasonic toothbrush, which is both gentle and effective and has a 2-minute timer, which may be its best feature. They make great birthday or holiday gifts too.

Millions of people struggle with bad breath, or halitosis, despite daily teeth brushing. Here are some suggestions that can eliminate the problem: brush your teeth and tongue twice daily, floss daily, get regular professional cleanings and carefully clean your dentures or removable dental appliances. However, if your hygiene is meticulous and the problem persists, Klement Family Dental can offer several solutions.

If you want harder, stronger teeth that are more resistant to cavities, then ask us to have an in-office fluoride treatment placed after your next cleaning. It is beneficial for adults and children.   Adults that are at greater risk for cavities or have one or more of the following conditions -sensitive teeth, receding gums, dry mouth, crown and bridge work or are going through radiation treatment – can benefit from an in office topical fluoride application after your next hygiene visit.

Yes, we do! We are available 6 days a week and have many appointment times before and after school and on Saturdays.

Children should visit the dentist when they are two to three years old. At Klement Family Dental, we do a complimentary Happy Visit for young children before their 3^rd birthday. During this visit, we introduce them to the office and lean them back in the chair so we can look at their teeth. If a child is receptive, we’ll quickly polish their teeth. Our goal is mainly to make it fun and teach kids that they can have a great time visiting the dentist. You may also want to consider bringing your 2 year old child with you to your next cleaning, so they can see how easy and fun the appointment is.

Yes! We recommend tooth-colored (composite) fillings for all of our patients, it is a better looking alternative to old amalgam or silver fillings.

• Sealants are a thin coating that is painted on the chewing surfaces of teeth — usually the back teeth (the premolars, and molars) — to prevent tooth decay. The painted on liquid sealant quickly bonds into the depressions and grooves of the teeth forming a protective shield over the enamel of each tooth.
• Typically, children should get sealants on their permanent molars and premolars as soon as these teeth come in. In this way, the dental sealants can protect the teeth through the cavity-prone years of ages 6 to 14. However, adults without decay or fillings in their molars can also benefit from sealants.
• Sealants can protect the teeth from decay for up to 10 years, but they need to be checked for chipping or wear at regular dental check-ups.

We also provide TVs in every room and blankets to keep you warm, to help you take your mind off your visit and make it as comfortable as possible.

Yes! Sedation dentistry is done with a calming aid either an oral pill or IV conscious sedation. With sedation dentistry, a patient is not put to sleep, but rather put in a calming state that may feel like sleep. For our patients who need a little extra help, we are proud to offer IV sedation dentistry. Our dentist, Dr. Kristen Oldham, is IV sedation certified, and will work with you to make sure that you have a comfortable, pain-free experience at every dental appointment. IV sedation can give you the confidence you need to get the dental care you deserve.

At Klement Family Dental, we both place and restore dental implants. Our dentists have extensive training in the surgical placement of dental implants, which ensures that your experience will be a positive one. Keeping the entire process right here in our dental office allows you to enjoy the comfort and confidence that comes with having the procedure performed by the dentists you already know and trust.

There are many diseases and dental defects, which cannot be seen when your dentist examines your mouth. This may include decay under old fillings, teeth trapped below the gums, cavities between the teeth, bone loss as a result of gum disease and changes in either jaw bone structure which can be affected by many systemic diseases. At Klement Family Dental we take digital x-rays which use 80% to 90% less radiation than traditional x-ray film.

Oral injuries are often painful and need to be treated by a dentist as soon as possible. Attempt to find the tooth. Rinse, but do not scrub, the tooth to remove dirt or debris. Place the clean tooth in your mouth between your cheek and gum or under your tongue. Do not attempt to replace the tooth into the socket as this could cause further damage. Call us right away. Successful re-implantation is possible only when treatment is performed promptly. If it is not possible to store the tooth in the injured person’s mouth, wrap the tooth in a clean cloth or gauze and immerse it in milk.

About half of women who are pregnant experience a condition called pregnancy gingivitis. This condition can be uncomfortable and cause swelling, bleeding, redness or tenderness in the gum tissue. A more advanced oral health condition called periodontal disease (a serious gum infection that destroys attachment fibers and supporting bone that hold teeth in the mouth) may affect the health of your baby. Studies have shown a relationship between periodontal disease and preterm, low birth-weight babies. In fact, pregnant women with periodontal disease may be seven times more likely to have a baby that’s born too early and too small. The likely culprit is a labor-inducing chemical found in oral bacteria called prostaglandin. Very high levels of prostaglandin are found in women with severe cases of periodontal disease.

Infections and other problems such as receding gums and periodontal disease are common afflictions among diabetics. Diabetes impairs the body’s ability to fight off infections, decreases blood flow and circulation to gum tissue, and in many cases elevates the sugar levels within the oral cavity. These factors tend to promote gum disease and tooth decay.

Good oral hygiene, proper brushing, regular flossing and healthy glucose levels will go a long way in preventing diabetic-related dental problems.

The basic problem in dry mouth, or xerostomia, is a lack of saliva. This can be caused by diseases of the salivary gland, medications that decrease salivary flow as a side effect or as a natural result of aging. This decrease in saliva can lead to a number of severe dental problems such as gum disease, tooth decay and mouth infections.

The best way to combat this problem is to use sugar free candy or gum and to drink plenty of water. Do not use sugared candy or soda, as they can lead to rapid dental decay in patients with dry mouths. Several over the counter products are also available that can help with some dry mouth symptoms. If you’re concerned that you may have xerostomia, call us to determine its cause and see what might work best in your situation.

Most dental problems don’t have any symptoms until they reach more advanced stages, so don’t wait for things to hurt! It is best to get a thorough dental exam, and diagnose and treat problems early. Waiting often makes problems more difficult and more expensive to fix.

If you’ve had your dentures for more than 3-5 years, it’s possible that they actually don’t fit anymore. Your gums and the bone underneath will continue to change shape (shrink) throughout your life.

As a result, dentures that were made to fit your mouth several years ago don’t fit now. People often try to compensate for this by using more and more denture adhesive until the desired fit is achieved. Unfortunately, this can cause faster loss of bone and an even worse fit.

We have some options available to treat these problems. In these cases, we may recommend to reline your existing dentures for a better fit or make a new set of dentures
